Padparadscha Sapphire Ring with Split Shank and Diamond Halo - GRS Certified Natural

The Padparadscha sapphire is one of the most rare sapphires. It is classified by its subtle blend of pink and orange, caused by both chromium and iron entering the mineral corundum at the exact same time. This variety of corundum makes up less than 1% of all mined sapphires. Any sort of inclusions or cloudiness in its clarity will dull the delicate colors, which makes having high clarity stones extremely important. If it has too much pink or too much orange, it loses its classification as being a true Padparadscha sapphire, making the geographic circumstances in which this gemstone is formed very rare.

The word Padparadscha is Sinahlese for "lotus blossom," which can be explained by the color resemblance of the stone to a lotus blossom.

The physical GRS certificate is provided with purchase.
